12 Old Square is a common law set of chambers, established in 1965. From that time, Chambers has earned a reputation for supplying barristers who provide potent advocacy and effective advice in relation to a broad range of matters, and for doing so in an approachable, friendly and professional way
Barristers
We have barristers to suit all categories of work and clients. Our barristers are each experts in their chosen areas of law and are skilled advocates, whose diverse backgrounds and specialisms bring a breadth of quality, knowledge and expertise which clients find invaluable.
Chambers is known for its friendly and cohesive atmosphere, which is fostered by our members' shared sense of the importance of legal practice and the role of the advocate. That attitude is reflected in a commitment to legal and professional discourse and the development of the law, both through argument in court and also in professional and academic publications.
At 12 Old Square you can rely on counsel to fight fearlessly, tirelessly, and skilfully and effectively in almost any type of legal dispute.
Experience
The collective experience of our members is formidable. Our barristers regularly appear in the High Court, the Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court (R (Cart) v. SSHD [2011] UKSC 28) and the Crown Court, County Courts and Tribunals throughout England and Wales. A number of our members also hold judicial positions.
As a common law chambers, we are able to offer counsel with diverse specialisms (see practice areas). We pride ourselves on the ability and commitment of our members to provide their professional and lay clients with a standard of representation, advice and service which is over and above above the high standard of client care and value which we feel all those in need of legal services should receive.
