Michaela is an experienced defence criminal practitioner instructed in work covering a wide spectrum of offences from multi- handed frauds through to sexual offences.

Although Michaela’s experience is predominantly based in criminal law, the skills she has acquired as a criminal advocate has allowed her to successfully expand her practice into a range of other areas, including Human Right, Immigration, Employment and Family Law.

Notable cases include:

R v Ottley and others- Drug conspiracy. Conspiracy to import large quantities of cocaine with the view to supplying and distributing it throughout the United Kingdom.

R v Blackman and others-Drug importation and money laundering. This case related to the mass importation, manufacture, distribution and subsequent supply of drugs, namely cocaine. This was a highly sophisticated drug operation spanning across over 3 different continents involving 30 different individuals. This case attracted significant domestic and international media attention as the drug bust exposed as being one of the largest in British history with the ultimate value of the conspiracy said to be in excess of 48 million pounds.

R v Fabian and others-Conspiracy to defraud and perverting the course of justice. Case involving dishonest bank staff carrying out Trojan attacks against customer accounts.

R v Kelly and others-GBH, Kidnap, blackmail, false imprisonment The kidnap of a chef after a failed drug deal whereupon he was imprisoned and beaten for a period of 72 hours.
