The Family Team of barristers at 12 Old Square practise both private and public law in respect of children. 

This includes:-

Private Law –Complete Children Act 1989 processes, from emergency applications to final hearings. Enforcement, variation and appeal procedures as well as acting on behalf of interveners and extended family members. Injunctions under the Family Law Act 1996, and representation of clients where the Official Solicitor is involved.
Public Law –Care Orders (Interim and Final), supervision orders (interim and final), contact applications for children in care. Emergency applications and injunctions including issues of domestic violence, non-molestation and occupation orders. Wardship, and cases involving complex medical issues.
Barristers regularly represent parents, grandparents, extended family, step-parents, prospective adopters and foster parents, CAFCASS, the Official Solicitor and the Local Authority.
We have an excellent record for providing a high standard of client care to both our professional and lay clients in the most sensitive of cases. Members are available to provide advice in the beginning stages of litigation.
