Rasib was called to the Bar in 1995, having completed a Masters in law. He was a lecturer at University of Westminster and also an examiner on their degree course. In 2006, Rasib accepted an appointment to sit as a part-time Immigration Judge. He is Head of Chambers at Equitas Chambers which is one of only three virtual chambers in the UK.
Rasib specialises in crime and human rights and is a highly experienced defence trial advocate. His practice covers all aspects of serious crime particularly murder, terrorism, drug trafficking, people trafficking, money laundering and serious fraud. He is regularly instructed to defend in high profile matters.
Apart from trials, Rasib also has an extensive practice in the Court of Appeal. In respect of his human rights work, his notable cases include R v Secretary of State ex parte Isiko (article 8, ECHR) and ex parte Wierzbicki.
Rasib’s client care is absolute in the conduct and presentation of any case. He has a particular eye for detail and it is said that he is a very useful advocate to have with a difficult client or opponent. It has also been noted that his practical approach to cases is refreshing and has proven to be effective.
Rasib undertakes pro bono advice for charities and has a working knowledge of Urdu and Punjabi.

Other Activities:
Rasib works extensively in the community and has organised events in an attempt to bring communities together, particularly in the aftermath of the London bombings which caused significant racial and religious discontent. He has advised communities in relation to the increased stop and search powers the police were awarded following the heightened threat of terrorist attacks. In the last year, Rasib has worked closely with the local government in an attempt to bridge relations between Pakistan and the UK. This culminated in his participation in an official trip to Pakistan with the Mayor of Waltham Forest and other councillors.
