Simon Williams specialises in Criminal law, Immigration and Human Rights.
Prior to Simon embarking on practise at the Bar he worked as an out-door clerk at criminal solicitors, Toussaints, and then at the Immigration Advisory Service in Birmingham where he first developed an interest and subsequent expertise in immigration and human rights law. Simon has experience at all levels of the immigration appellate system. Simon acted in Innis, Richards and Alder v SSHD [2005] a test case affecting over 200 overseas students in the Midlands area.
 
Simon has substantial experience in Plying for Hire, and Trading Standards cases concerning issues of infringement and passing off, on behalf of the accused. Simon is an experienced Crown Court defence advocate. He has acted in a broad range of cases ranging from attempted murder, serious robbery to conspiracy to supply class A drugs.
 
Simon has appeared in the Court of Appeal on numerous occasions.

Simon also runs a legal surgery on behalf of the East Staffordshire Racial Equality Group advising on crime and immigration. As a Public Access barrister Simon can be instructed directly by members of the public.
 
In his spare time Simon enjoys travelling and reading.
